Hey guys,
My name is Amy Hunnewell and I have been involved with Youth Development for over ten years-- first as a student, then a volunteer, then an intern and finally working as a Youth Development Services Cooridnator with the Partnership for Families Children and Youth. In case you couldn't tell, I am passionate about youth related issues and making a positive impact on my community. I have taken the Youth Advocacy Board slogan "Youth are not the problem, they are the solution" to heart and tried to spread it around.
I moved to Walton County in the 7th grade after having moved around the country and around the world with my military family-- and have had a driving passion for this county ever since. I graduated from Monroe Area in 2005, attained my Associate of Arts from Young Harris College and then my Bachelors of Arts from the UGA. All the while, I volunteered and interned with Youth Development under Emily Russell and then began working for them in fall of 2010. When I'm not at work, you'll most likely find me running, reading or vegging out on my couch while Netflixing, checking out crafts on Pinterest and shopping online-- all at the same time. Being an Army brat, I also really enjoy traveling and meeting new and interesting people.
I'm thankful for the opportunity I have to work with such amazing young people in my community who are making an impact on not only their peers, but the county as a whole. I look forward to seeing what amazing things they have in store and getting a front row seat while they do it!
