Social Circle High School

School Philosophy

The Social Circle High School faculty and staff believe that the primary function of public schools is to promote the pursuit of life-long learning with students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators working together to encourage quality in decision-making pertaining to management, policy, and program. We are committed to improving the quality of life by assisting in the development of our students so that they can economically function as contributing members of a free multicultural society, can understand the ethical values of our nation that are needed in personal, family, and community living, and can be sensitive to and confront the crucial issues of the world.

Social Circle High School believes that all students can successfully master learning objectives, if given high quality learning instruction, acknowledgement of individual differences, and attention to learning rate variations. It is our responsibility to foster the growth of all students so that they will be prepared for the rapid expansion of technology and knowledge, and that we provide experiences upon which students can develop into critical-thinking, self-directed, and responsible citizens.

Social Circle High School believes that the community should be mutually involved in planning, implementing, and evaluating the school program. The community provides the framework, serving as an educational, cultural, social, and financial resource. The community is urged to respond and become involved by providing financial, material, and human resources in support of the school's many programs and activities.
